1. Sardar Singh to lead Indian Squad for Commonwealth Games.

    Sardar Singh will lead the Indian Hockey team for the Commonwealth Games to be held in Glasgow,from July 23 to August 3.The 16 member squad will have Sreejesh as its vice Captain.


2.Ram Naresh Yadav sworn in as Governor of Chattisgarh.

   He will now have the additional charge of Chattisgarh along with MadhyaPradesh.


3. Tamil Nadu Government appointed Raghupathy Commission to probe Chennai building collapse.

     11 storied building under construction collapsed claiming lives of 56 workers


4. CCEA approved inclusion of onion and potato under essential commodities act 1955.

2.Sharp rise in cyber crimes in India.

    India recorded a sharp rise in cyber crimes registered under IT act in 2013.Total crimes rose up to 52 pc compared to the last  year.Maharashtra (681), Andhra Pradesh(635), Karnataka (535),Kerala(349) are the states which tops the list.



3. Nodal Officer appointed for the FIFA under 17 World Cup 2017.

    State government of kerala appointed senior IAS officer APM Mohammed Hanish as nodal Officer for matches likely  to be held in Kochi as a part of FiFA World Cup scheduled to be held during 2017.

4. Sandeep Jajodia All Set to become the President of Boxing India federation.


5. Jitu Rai Ranked No; 1 in Air Pistol shooting.

    Indian shooter Jitu Rai became world no: 1 in air pistol shooting after bagging three medals in the ISSF World cup in Munich.



6. IBA suggested RBI to charge customers on ATM usage.

   Indian Banks Association suggested RBI to rationalize ATM charges in Villages and Urban Areas,if accepted customers have to pay a fee from  the very first transaction after the first five free transaction.




7. Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy Charged with corruption and influence peddling.

    Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy was charged with corruption and influence peddling,the decision came after questioning Sarkozy for 15 hours with a suspected attempt to illegally influence judicial proceedings-in one of the corruption charges against him.

1. SBI launches touch banking branches 'sbiINTOUCH'

    SBI launches six digital banking branches as a part to offer next generation banking services to it's customers.The new branches are located at Delhi,Bangalore,Mumbai,Chennai and Ahmadabad. One of such branches in Delhi was inaugurated by Finance minister Arun Jaitley.
The bank has engaged Accenture to develop digital business strategy for its program.


2.IDBI bank launches mobile banking service.

  IDBI introduced mobile banking service to it's customers, that enables customers to meet all banking needs such as fund transfer, bill payment,DTH/mobile recharge and much more.

3. India announced new liberal visa policy for Afghanistan nationals. 

    India announced a new liberal visa policy that allows Afghanistan nationals to stay in India on stay visas for a period up to 2 years of time.Besides Afghanistan nationals below 12 years and above 65 years of age are exempted from police reporting.

4.Google to shut down 'Orkut'.

   Google decided to shut down it's first social networking site 'orkut' from September 30, as it has lost space to its rivals. Orkut was launched in 2004 as a result of '20 percent project' which Google workers got to spend a fifth of their time on ideas not necessarily related to their job responsibilities.

Nadal & Sharapova wins French open title 2014 !

Rafael Nadal once again proved his tight grip on
Grand slam defeating Novak Djokovic to win his ninth French Open Title.
This final was a condensed, 3-hour-31-minute version of his clay-court season. He struggled early with his groundstrokes and his nerve but gradually gathered strength and belief, striking his trademark whipping forehand with familiar force down the stretch and then dropping to his knees, his taped fingers covering his face.
Nadal has now won 14 Grand Slam singles titles: just three behind the career leader, his former archrival Roger Federer. 




In women's final Maria Sharapova beat Simona Halep in the dramatic final to clinch her second French Open.She  came through 6-4 6-7 (5-7) 6-4 in three hours and two minutes at Roland Garros.

Sharapova is the first Russian  to win the same Grand slam title twice,with five Grand slam title she joins 11th in the all time list with Martina Hingis.

1. ASEAN leaders condemns the act of China.

     South east Asian leaders raised concern over the aggression of China in the south China sea,at a pre-summit meet of foreign ministers.The meetings, held twice a year, end with declarations on regional issues such as economic integration and common security concerns.This year the pre summit was hosted by Naypyitaw,Myanmar.

2.India's own payment gateway released.

     RuPay ,India's own payment gate way was released by the President of India at a ceremony held in Rashtrapathi Bhavan,NewDelhi.The service equalent to VISA,mastercard can be operated at ATMs , online payments,point of sales across the world.RuPay platform was devoloped by the National Payment Corporation of India(NPCI).

3. Jacob Zuma will return to power in SA.

    Ruling African National Congress got a commanding victory securing 62pc of the total votes polled,giving President Jacob Zuma a second term in office.This was the 5th post apartheid election and the first since the death of Nelson Mandela.

4.Silver For Vikas Gowda.

    Vikas Gowda ,ace discuss thrower won silver medal in IAAF diamond league series in Doha,Qatar.He covered a distance of 63.23 m just behind Poland's Piotr Malachowiski. Gowda hails from Mysore.
